Event description

Description

The Religiously Complex Congregation in the Religiously Complex World

Professor Samira K. Mehta is a scholar of religion and the politics of the American family. She is particularly interested in how families create meaning, about their practices, identities, and senses of morality and how, in turn, outside forces (religious leaders and institutions, politicians, and creators of popular culture) construct the American family through theology, legislation, and public discourse. For the Minns Lectures spring 2018 series, she will give three talks:

  • Saturday, March 3, 6:30 pm: Living a Multireligious Life
First Parish Church in Cambridge, 1446 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA
  • Saturday, April 7, 6:30 pm: Nuancing the "Nones"
First Church Boston, 66 Marlborough St., Boston, MA
  • Saturday, May 5, 6:30 pm: Beyond Christmukkah
King's Chapel Parish House, 64 Beacon St., Boston, MA
