Thanks to groundbreaking research and reports from the best our country has to offer, the timing is ripe for Minnesotans to come together and take action in a unified, strategic manner. This event brings together stakeholders and experts to share research, perspectives and articulate a common vision. Your voice and expertise is needed to make this work. Q: Where and when is this event going to be held?

A: University of Minnesota-Duluth on Monday, September 18th, 2017 beginning at 8am.

Q: What costs are associated with this event?

A: In short, this is a free, one day event thanks to our generous sponsors who covered the costs of:

  • Registration
  • Parking at UMD the day of the event
  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Social Hour

Q: I’ll be traveling from out of town and need lodging in Duluth. What are my options?

A: Duluth is a wonderfully hospitable city with many lodging options. Thanks to the Northland Foundation, you can take advantage of a discounted rate ($99/night) at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Duluth-Downtown on September 17th and September 18th. Reservations MUST be made by August 17th to receive the discounted rate. You can book online here or call 218-722-1202; ask for the Northland Foundation Rate if booking by phone.

Q: I’m worried about finding my way around the UMD campus. Is there help available?

A: Student concierges will be available the day of the event to make your experience as stress-free as possible. You can get acquainted with the UMD campus by downloading a map here. A map highlighting power assist doors and elevators can be found here.

Q: Will CEUs or Clock Hour Certificates be provided for this event?

A: This event is approved by Achieve, the Minnesota Center for Professional Development, for 8 clock hours. Individuals who have a Develop ID# will have their attendance automatically verified on their Learning Record in Develop. Neither CEUs nor paper certificates will be provided.

Q: I don’t have a Develop ID# and I don’t know what Develop is. Where can I get a Develop ID# and learn more about Develop?

A: You can learn all about Develop, Minnesota’s online Quality Improvement and Registry Tool, here. You can register for a Develop account on your own at any time. If you prefer to do things in person, team members from Achieve will be at the registration table the day of the event to help you get your own Develop ID# and answer any questions you might have about Develop.

Q: I’m not familiar with Duluth. What are some don’t miss attractions or activities I should check out?

A: Duluth is a true treasure, situated on the north shore of Lake Superior. There are tons of things to do, but here are a few recommendations from our team:
