Minnesota Jazz Legends: The Elders, Hosted by Patty Peterson

During this special presentation, Patty Peterson will reminisce with three Minnesota jazz legends, who have achieved local and national acclaim: Minnesota Music Hall of Fame recipient and recording artist, Linda Peterson (pianist/vocalist), big band leader and Professor Emeritus at Gustavus Adolphus College, Dr. Steve Wright (trumpet), and Ollie Lyle (author/bassist), who performed with Carole Martin and Percy Hughes in some of the most prestigious jazz clubs of the 1960s. A special tribute will also be paid to a fourth legend, the late Brazilian pianist, Manfredo Fest, who lived and worked extensively in the Twin Cities for two decades.

These Jazz Legends will entertain with music that they love and discuss how their individual journeys have become a part of the musical history of Minnesota.

The legends are accompanied by the Phil Aaron Trio, featuring Phil Aaron (piano), Kevin Clements (bass) and Phil Hey (drums). Patty Peterson states, “I love presenting these Minnesota jazz artists who continue to prove that this art form is still very much alive and thriving in Minnesota, regardless of one’s age.”
