Over the past 9 months, Environmental Initiative has been facilitating a conversation amongst leaders in the business, government and nonprofit sectors to explore new opportunities for emissions reductions, lay the groundwork for future collaboration to improve air quality in Minnesota and to respond to potential nonattainment designations for ozone and fine particulates. Minnesota’s Clean Air Dialogue is building upon the longstanding public-private partnerships established through Clean Air Minnesota, whose steering committee members have worked together for nearly a decade to keep Minnesota’s air clean through proactive, voluntary approaches.

The Minnesota Clean Air Dialogue (MNCAD) process and stakeholder group has developed a set of draft recommendations for emissions reductions. We are holding a public meeting on December 4th to gather initial general public and stakeholder reactions to our draft recommendations. These recommendations include incentive and capital investment programs, policy initiatives, and education and outreach efforts that aim to reduce fine particulates and ozone in the atmosphere.
