Two Joint Events

  1. An afternoon analytics event organized with the Minnesota PDMA (Product Development & Management Association)
  2. An evening data visualization event organized with the Twin Cities Data Visualization Group.

In-between we will have time for networking, beer, and pizza. 

There is no charge for this event.  (We still may have a Sponsorship opportunity)

Both of these events will be held in the event space on the 2nd floor of Day Block

Preliminary Schedule

Afternoon Session:
Registration and Networking 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Presentations 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Speakers Include:
-3:00 to 3:45 pm  "Analytics and Visualizations in the Hospitality Industry" by Roger Hamm, Product Manager - Business Intelligence, and Brian Bowman, PhD, Sr. Manager Research, IDeaS Revenue Solutions

This session will introduce Revenue Management, some of the concepts around the predictive and prescriptive analytics, and the presentation of the analytical output using a Business Intelligence Tool.  This session will cover the: 1) Revenue management industry; 2) Dynamic pricing; 3) Predictive and prescriptive analytics used in that industry; and 4) Presentation of the analytical data.


-3:55 to 5:05 pm  Panel: "Do's and Don'ts of Implementing and Running Analytics Programs to Drive Innovation" Moderated by Scott Propp with Panelists: Matt Johnson, Karla Hillier, Edward Chenard, and Sean Larson

This session will cover the do's and don'ts of implementing and running analytics practices to drive innovation and develop new products. The panelists have a broad range of experience in this area in a variety of industries.

 -:5:15 to 6:00 pm "Healthcare Analytics: Managing through constant change" by Bonnie Holub, PhD, Program Manager, Enterprise Data Warehouse, UCare

Healthcare Analytics is an industry in constant change. In addition to the data deluge swamping all industries, healthcare is experiencing multiple, concurrent “sea changes” including: 1) External governmental mandates, including the implementation of the Affordable Care Act; 2) Pedagogical drivers as the medical disciplines shift to evidence-based medicine; and 3) Industry tremors as payers move from fee-for-service to valued-based payments. This presentation will describe one organizations move to more reliable, in depth, widely-accessible integrated health analytics, and lessons learned along that journey.
