Panel Discussion with local leaders on effective methods of guiding and inspiring others
Senior Research Director, Financial Services, TowerGroup
Rodney Nelsestuen is a Senior Research Director in TowerGroup’s Financial Services practice. He conducts research on business, operational, and IT strategies, emerging trends, growth strategies, and issues germane to all verticals across the financial services industry. With more than two decades in financial services, Rod spent over eight years as CEO of a commercial lending institution in Michigan and six years as an enterprise-level CIO at AgriBank in St. Paul, Minnesota. In addition, he has served in diverse finance, marketing, credit, operations, and technology roles at both the operational and executive levels.
Rod is also an adjunct professor for the School of Business at Cardinal Stritch University and the University of Phoenix. He holds an MBA and a Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Management from Keller Graduate School, completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, and an MFA in writing through Hamline University. He joined TowerGroup, a Corporate Executive Board Company, in 2006.
National Accounts Advisor, Workforce Solutions, University of Phoenix
Mike Kaess joined the University of Phoenix in May 2011 as a member of the Workforce Solutions team in Minneapolis, MN. Mike collaborates with key personnel in organizations to assist in meeting their strategic goals. Mike is also a Professional Development Ambassador and contributes to the Midwest Leadership Council. Mike has also been an associate faculty member since May 2012.
Prior to joining UOPX, Mike was employed for 37 years with United Parcel Service. Mike retired as a Director of Sales, mentoring eight Sales Managers with accounts throughout the globe.
Mike was born a raised in St. Paul, Mn and has lived in the Twin Cities his whole life. He and his wife Mary celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary in 2012, and are blessed with one child. Mike graduated from Bethel University with a BA in Organizational Studies and an MA in Organizational Leadership. Today in his spare time Mike is a certified official with the Minnesota State High School League.
Human Resources Manager, Hennepin County Library, Hennepin County
Teresa Jepma is a Minnesota native with a Masters in Human Resources Management degree from the St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree from the University of Phoenix.
Teresa currently is employed for Hennepin County, the largest County in Minnesota as the Human Resources Manager for the Hennepin County Library Department. Teresa joined the University of Phoenix in 2006 as adjunct faculty at the St. Louis Park campus teaching graduate level courses and presenting employment related seminars. Teresa also has presented seminars such as: Resume Writing Skills, Preparing for the Interview, and Career Planning at other local universities. Prior to, Teresa worked as the Human Resources Manager at the Minnesota Supreme Court and brings with her many years of Human Resources experience in the healthcare, government, and non-profit industries.
