Description

Join the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board, the Minneapolis Health Department, the City of Minneapolis’ Community Planning & Economic Development, Hennepin County Libraries, Youthprise and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board for the annual Minneapolis PARTNERS with Youth Conference.

The goal of this conference is to provide training opportunities for Youth Work Professionals in Minneapolis. Through the conference, Minneapolis Youth Work Professionals share strategies to create and increase positive youth development and engagement, co-create professional development to youth and youth-serving professionals, and build a foundation for ongoing networking, learning and community-wide resource sharing. This year’s conference is focused on Pathways to Healing, Action, Sustaining, and Opportunity.

This year's keynote speaker will be Minneapolis NAACP Chapter President Jason Sole. For the past eight years Sole has served a criminal justice educator, recently joining Hamline University as a visiting professor. In addition, Sole also was a 2013 Bush Fellow. During his fellowship he focused on reducing the recidivism rate among juveniles throughout the state of Minnesota. Sole is currently traveling the country discussing his memoir, From Prison to Ph.D.: A Memoir of Hope, Resilience, and Second Chances.
