Timo Lindborg has been working with mining related issues since 1978, for almost 40 years.

At present, he is CEO of Sotkamo Silver AB a listed Swedish company. He set it up and grew it to develop the Sotkamo Silver deposit. Between 1995 and 2010 Timo Lindborg was engaged in Endomines Oy and Endomines AB. He is one of the founding entrepreneurs behind this company.

Dr. Timo Lindborg obtained his B.Sc. in geology at the University of Uppsala in 1982 and a Master of Science in Technology (Water and Environmental Engineering) at Oulu University in 1988. His doctor’s degree in Industrial Economics and Management is also from Oulu and was completed in 1996. Since 2005 he has title of docent (an adjunct professor) at Oulu University. Tim represented the extractives sector as part of the negotiations in Brussels of the EU Accounting Directive project-by-project tax reporting rules. He has also been involved in mining tax reform discussions in a number of countries, including Australia, Brazil, Chile and South Africa.

Tim now runs Engaged Consulting, and advises businesses on tax policy, governance and transparency. He recently won the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2017 for Best Independent Consulting Firm.
