Join us for a three day intensive where students will experience movie making from the beginning to the end of the process!

About this Event

Join us for a three day intensive where students will experience movie making from the beginning to the end of the process. Students will participate in creating the script, working through storyboards, acting, directing and editing! Students will come away with a better understanding of the movie making process, more confidence in themselves as performers, and a more refined ability to work creatively with others. Day 2 - REHEARSAL AND FILMING OF SCENES

Day 3 - COMPLETE SHOOTING & EDITING!

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

LINDSAY ZAPPALA -- Lindsay received her undergraduate degree in Theatre at Northwestern University and her Masters in Entertainment Industry Management from Carnegie Mellon University. After returning home from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh, Lindsay’s focus has been in teaching; specifically, on-camera acting and audition coaching. Lindsay is an Adjunct Professor at Point Park University in the Cinema Arts department where she offers On-Camera Acting courses for both filmmakers and writers. Additionally, Lindsay teaches acting classes at Donna Belajac Actors studio. Lindsay also works as a teaching artist through Pittsburgh City Theatre. Prior to her move back to Pittsburgh, Lindsay worked in television production, working at FOX Network in TV development, the TV series "House" (NBC) and the TV series "Hemlock Grove" (Netflix). She transitioned into television casting as a Casting Associate on numerous TV pilots (for CBS, TBS and HBO) as well as the Showtime series “Masters of Sex." While working with Emmy award winning Casting Director Stephanie Gorin in Toronto, Lindsay also helped cast various regional Broadway shows including “Peter Pan” and “The Lion King."

MEREDITH HOPPE - Meredith Hoppe is a theatre artist and educator specializing in drama, puppetry, art for social and community change. In Pittsburgh, Meredith currently works for APOST and is an adjunct professor of Theatre at Point Park University and Guest Artist at West Liberty University. Meredith has also been active in the arts community as the Theatre Ensemble Director at Hope Academy of Music and the Arts. In addition, Meredith is a rostered teaching artist for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Western Pennsylvania Wolf Trap program and City Theatre Company. Meredith received her MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from the University of Central Florida in 2010. Her current interests lie in exploring avant-garde, non-linear, and devised theatre with and for young artists, as well as the connection between mindfulness and meditation to theatre in professional and classroom settings

CHRISTIAN CASHMAN -- Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Christian has nearly 10 years of experience in filmmaking. Christian produces commercial work for non-profits and short films, as well as aiding local filmmakers with their projects in all aspects. Additionally, Christian has taught young filmmakers the fundamentals of the craft through various workshops and summer camps at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Christian received his undergraduate degree in Film Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and his Masters in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University.
