Description

Holz Center Minecraft Club Application (Ages 7-15)

We are excited to announce Minecraft Club! Each club will run for 6 weeks and will have a maximum of 10 children each time. We will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 pm –7:00 pm at the center. If there are more students than spaces, we will pick names in a lottery. We are starting on January 16, 2018.

How do I join?

Complete this application and return it to the Holz Center with payment the Monday before the club start (cash or check made payable to the Holz Foundation). Please understand we need to receive the application and the fee prior the first class.

Do I need to know how to play Minecraft to join? Do I need an account?

No! In fact, we really want students who have never played Minecraft to be in our club. We want boys and girls who are curious to learn the game and explore what makes it so awesome. Experienced Minecrafters are very welcome, too, but don’t be afraid to apply if you’ve never played the game. We will provide the accounts.

What will we do during Minecraft Club?

Build, create and have fun! We will explore engineering, science, computer programming or just see how much TNT we can blow up! :)

Note to Parents:

Holz Center Minecraft Camp will teach children to do more than play their games, but rather to become a part of them by making their own mods. We will walk the children through the process of learning to use the Java programing language with a simplified drag and drop interface that will let them take their game to a whole new level. With mini-games, monster mods, and so much more, the programmers in training will be able to make their ideas into playable content that will make them the envy of their friends. The class will start with an introduction to basic programming, key concepts like strings & booleans, and take the kids from making their first basic mods into creating their own ideas in Minecraft.

  • Minecraft is available to children ages 7-12
  • Child must have a disability.
  • We meet once a week for 5 weeks. The fee is $50 for 5 weeks.
