Event description
Minecraft Maker Camp is a fun-filled week of hands-on, experiential learning for kids—powered by the digital and physical worlds!

About this Event

What is Minecraft Maker Camp? Minecraft Maker Camp harnesses the power of Minecraft to tackle real world problems, bringing together the physical and digital worlds in a meaningful way. Led by an experienced local educator, campers will be presented with daily challenges—and then given the tools and direction they need to create solutions in their Minecraft builds.

Campers will visit the exhibits at MoPOP to learn about specific topics. Then, they will come back to their laptops to implement their learnings into their Minecraft builds. Campers will spend the week exploring the digital and physical worlds, learning essential 21st century skills, and engaging with their peers. At the end of the week, campers will take home the worlds they have created—allowing them to continue their exploration and creation.

Who can attend Minecraft Maker Camp? All students entering 3rd-6th grade in Fall 2020.

Is previous experience with Minecraft required? No! Minecraft Maker Camp content has been developed to be both accessible and challenging to campers with varying levels of Minecraft experience.

When is it? Monday, August 10th-Friday, August 14th. Camp runs from 9:00am-3:00pm daily.

Where is it? The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP)—325 5th Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109

How much does Minecraft Maker Camp cost? Camp registration is $350/camper for the general public and $325/camper for MoPOP members.
