Event description

Description

As teachers, you are on the front lines everyday. You know how badly our children are at risk, you understand that they need better tools to handle the everyday stress in their lives, and you want to help them to learn to express themselves in positive ways. The children in your classroom may be disruptive and aggressive, but only because they lack the insight and understanding of how their brain influences their thinking, emotions and behavior. That’s where MindUP™ can help.

MindUP™ is an evidence-based, SEL framework and curriculum that shifts perspective – driving positive behavior, improved learning and scholastic performance as well as better relationships with self and others. These are the qualities our children need in order to build success for a lifetime.

Our one day MindUP™ Regional Workshop allows those teachers who are interested in MindUP™, but whose schools or organizations have not yet committed to a school-wide implementation, the opportunity to receive an in-depth training on how to use MindUP™ in their classroom or alternative environment.

Participants will:

    • Experience an interactive professional development workshop with a seasoned Certified MindUP™ Workshop Facilitator
    • Receive a tool kit which include a MindUP™ Curriculum guide (Pre-K-2nd, 3rd-5th, or 6th-8th of your choice) and a chime
    • Discover how MindUP™ creates a strong framework to support successful implementation aligned with standard curriculums, such as Common Core and IB
    • Receive a sample MindUP™ implementation pacing guide and subject alignment guide
    • Learn how to help children recognize and manage emotions, develop compassion, make responsible decisions, and maintain positive relationships in school, at home, and throughout life

Date: Saturday, March 24th, 2018 from 8:30am to 3:15pm
Cost per participant: $175.00 USD

What does my ticket price include? Entry to our 6-hour introductory training workshop, a curriculum guide, a chime, a sample implementation pacing guide for Pre-K-8th grades and a subject alignment guide for Pre-K-8th grades, along with morning coffee, pastries, and bagels and your choice of a boxed Panera Bread lunch.

Is this workshop only for educators? No. Our regional workshops teach information and activites that anyone working with children in grades Pre-K-8th grades can implement and use, including teachers, parents, administrators, therapists and counselors.
