Event description

Description

As teachers, you are on the front lines everyday. You know how badly our children are at risk, you understand that they need better tools to handle the everyday stress in their lives, and you want to help them to learn to express themselves in positive ways. The children in your classroom may be disruptive and aggressive, but only because they lack the insight and understanding of how their brain influences their thinking, emotions and behavior.

Many children are unable to make an emotional connection with themselves or with others, and today’s pressurized academic environment can make matters even worse. We’re experiencing an epidemic, in which children are failing to thrive in school and in life. That’s where MindUP™ can help.

MindUP™ is an evidence-based, SEL framework and curriculum that shifts perspective – driving positive behavior, improved learning and scholastic performance as well as better relationships with self and others. These are the qualities our children need in order to build success for a lifetime.

Our one day MindUP™ Regional Workshop allows those teachers who are interested in MindUP™, but whose schools or organizations have not yet committed to a school-wide implementation, the opportunity to receive an in-depth training on how to use MindUP™ in their classroom or alternative environment.

Participants will:

    • Experience an interactive professional development workshop
    • Receive a tool kit which include a MindUP™ Curriculum guide and chime
    • Discover how MindUP™ creates a strong framework to support successful implementation aligned with standard curriculums, such as Common Core
    • Access a sample MindUP™ implementation pacing guide
    • Learn how to help children recognize and manage emotions, develop compassion, make responsible decisions, and maintain positive relationships in school, at home, and throughout life

Date: Friday, October 13th, 2017 from 8:30am to 3:15pm
Cost per participant: $175.00 USD
