Mindr: Reproductive Rights in the Trump Years, with Professor Yasmine Ergas
Thu, April 27, 2017, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM EDT
Think little ones and big minds can't mix? Think again. Mindr hosts talks by global experts where crying babies are welcome.
The reproductive rights landscape is in a state of flux, with major questions about access to reproductive health care for millions of women in the US and around the world, especially those living in poverty. Gender specialist Professor Yasmine Ergas from Columbia University will discuss the state of reproductive rights domestically and abroad.
A lawyer and sociologist, Professor Ergas has served as a consultant to international and domestic policy organizations including the OECD, UNESCO, the Millennium Villages Project, and the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and directs the Gender and Public Policy specialization at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs.
Your ticket includes a drink at the bar and light hors d'oeuvres thanks to Jackson's Eatery and Bar, and a chance to take home some essential feminist reading from our friends at Word Bookstores by globally renowned thought leaders Rebecca Solnit and Cordelia Fine.
Take a break from nursery rhymes and sleep schedules and meet other parents in an environment where curiosity is king and crying babies are no big deal.
