Event description
Mindfulness Practices: Cultivating Heart Centered Communities where Students Focus and Flourish (Session One of a six part series)

About this Event

Join us for a discussion with two of the book's authors, Christine Mason, Ph.D. and Michele Rivers Murphy, Ed.D., as they share the importance of mindfulness practice as a school leader and the planned agenda for the book study. Mindfulness Practices explains, through research, the influential power mindfulness can have on reducing trauma and how this can positively affect a school's culture, staff morale, instruction, and learning.

We encourage schools to register teams of participants! This book study is being conducted as part of the Childhood Learning Collaborative (C-TLC ) of the New England Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (New England MHTTC). The collaborative is designed to foster alliances to address the needs of children and youth who have experienced/are at risk of experiencing significant trauma. Participants will have an opportunity to earn up to six (6) CEU credits. For more information, contact us at info@edimprovement.org.

To ensure continuity of attendees, as a part of session one of this six part series, attendees will determine the best dates/times for subsequent sessions. Those attendees will be invited, by the Center for Educational Improvement (CEI), to participate in the remaining five sessions.

NOTE: A limited number of books will be available, at no charge, to registrants. Book request forms will be emailed to prospective attendees within 48 hours of registration. CEI will consider book requests on a first come, first served basis. Approved requests will be fulfilled no later than September 12.
