Flywheel's Mindfulness Lunch is open to everyone, but is especially popular with entrepreneurial and/or creative souls who are curious about how short-bursts of mediation throughout your day can help you stay in the creative flow for extended periods of time, interrupt a chronic fight-or flight stress-response, and cultivate deeper connections with co-workers and loved ones.
While you enjoy your colorfully-fresh, locally-sourced lunch, Cheryl Schirillo will teach you easy-to-practice Mindfulness Techniques and then lead a short, guided-meditation.
She designed this monthly event for scientists, designers, entrepreneurs and other business folks who tend to perk up when they hear about how meditation increases the gray matter in your hippocampus, boosts your memory and is especially effective for managing chronic stress caused by being over-busy.
Cheryl Schirillo began her mostly-daily mediation practice 13 years ago when she launched her first start-up. Her stress levels were off the chart and she was in critical need of a fix that would allow her to be at the top of her game when she was pitching investors and getting to the finals in business plan competitions throughout the southeast. By incorporating mindfulness into her day, she found she could more fully enjoy the wild ride she was on and be more present and peaceful when interacting with family and co-workers.
Today, Cheryl meditates for 10 – 40 minutes in the morning — and creates moments of mindfulness throughout each day — because she has found it is the best way to live an authentic, connected and joyfully-creative life.
Cheryl Schirillo is President/CEO of Bridges Connecting Communities, Inc. and Founder of the Imagination Installations Project. She has studied mindfulness-meditation for the past 13 years with Duke Integrative Medicine Practitioners, Buddhist Monks, Pacos from Peru and Native American Shamans and Healers. Cheryl's Mindfulness Consulting Practice was inspired by Otto Scharmer, Senior Lecturer at M.I.T’s Sloan School of Management and Co-Founder of the Presencing Institute. For the past three years Cheryl has studied with Otto and a local group of community innovators participating in U.Lab, a global movement to build a new economy by co-sensing and co-creating with the emerging future.

Flywheel is located at 525 Vine St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, directly behind Biotech Place in downtown Winston-Salem, NC. Free Parking in lot “P2” lot in the WF Innovation Quarter which is between Patterson Ave and Vine Street, stretching between 6th and 7th Streets, on the north end of Wake Forest Biotech Place. When you get to the P2 parking lot gate, press the buzzer and tell security you are attending a meeting at Flywheel. Street parking is also available. From the parking lot, walk in the wide "alley-street" behind Biotech Place. Pass the loading dock and take your next left up the wide, outside stairway. You will see the sign and entrance for Flywheel on your left.
