Class led by: Amanda Johnson
Have you ever wondered what "mindfulness" means? Have you ever thought about meditating but had no idea where to start or what to do? Have you ever tried meditating and soon after gave up or quit because it just wasn't "working" (or you simply hated it)?
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then we invite you to join us for a weekly mindfulness and meditation group. This is our opportunity to carve out some time and space each week to get quiet, drop in, and practice the art of meditation. Doing this in a group setting also gives us the benefit of being with like-minded people and supporting one another on this journey.
During this time, we will have a brief discussion about mindfulness and how we apply it to our lives, explore various types of meditation, and break down some of the barriers we might experience when it comes to meditation.
Many of us have a misconception of what meditation is ... if you are curious if you're one of them, then come and check this out!
No previous experience needed. Come as you are.
NOTE: If you prefer to sit on the floor during meditation, we invite you to bring a yoga mat, cushion, or pillow. For those who prefer sitting in chairs, that is also a completely acceptable option.
Cost: Free to Bakery Members; Donation based for non-members ($5 suggested donation).
