Event description

Description

Georgetown Women’s Alliance (GWA), the Georgetown Law Women of Color Collective, and the Georgetown Graduate Women in Business (GWiB) are proud to present a workshop led by Mare Chapman on Mindfulness for Women.

During this workshop, Mare has pared down the teachings from her book Unshakeable Confidence into a 2-hour workshop to introduce the unique conditioning women face in our culture, the science and reparative qualities of mindfulness practices, and guided reflections and practices.

...

Mare Chapman, M.A., is an author, psychotherapist and mindfulness instructor who teaches classes and retreats, and trains mental health professionals in mindfulness. With 40 years of clinical experience and 30 years with meditation, she is devoted to understanding the ways gender conditioning trains women to disconnect from their authenticity, and how mindfulness transforms these habits to live fully empowered lives.

For those interested in building upon the ideas presented in this workshop, Mare will be hosting a one-day workshop at the Crossings Center for Healing Traditions the following day: Transforming Our Internalized Misogyny: Mindfulness for Women.
