Event description
Do you feel like everything will be ok if you "just get that one last thing done?" (And then the next "last thing" ... and the next ...)

About this Event

In "Mindfulness for the Professionally Anxious," you'll learn:

  • The source of obsessive thinking, how it causes anxiety, and why it's not your fault (really!).
  • Scientifically-proven methods that break the cycle of fear and actually rewire your brain for peace.
  • The one powerful question that brings instant clarity.
  • How the "Totem Pole" technique calms your inner control freak.

Do one or more of these questions resonate?

  • Do you take your work home (and everywhere else) with you ... in your head? Have you noticed that it doesn't really help, but you still can't stop?
  • Do other people somehow not seem as stressed as you feel?
  • Are you pretty sure you could get it all together if life would just pause for, say, a freakin' minute or two?
  • Do the benefits of mindfulness or meditation sound great and all, but you just can't stop your thoughts and clear your mind?

Who should attend?

If you answered "yes" to any of the questions above, or if you're just curious about mindfulness (or how to resolve human angst), this event is for you.

No prior experience is needed, although even seasoned practitioners will likely find some new context for their practice!

Who am I?

Hi. I'm Ron Levine from Mindfulness in Blue Jeans.

Early in my IT career, I became housebound with clinical anxiety, depression, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. When my doctor prescribed this "mindfulness" thing, I wasn't impressed. I figured I'd give it a quick try, and when it inevitably failed we could move on to the REAL treatment.

That was over 20 years ago, and I'm still doing this mindfulness thing.

This practice has changed my life. First, I used these tools and techniques to break free from what was holding me back. Then, I transferred my new skills to other parts of my life. I've built an incredibly successful IT career. As a musician, I've traveled to perform at festivals. And now, I lead practice groups, corporate events, and workshops like this so others may experience these life-changing benefits as well.

What we'll do

We'll begin with a talk about the true origins of our anxiety, followed by an overview of how to apply mindfulness using the "Totem Pole" technique. A guided sitting session (about 25 minutes) will follow, and we'll wrap up with a journaling and Q+A period.

Investment levels

Limited tickets are available at three investment levels; please select the one most appropriate for you. Those with the means and generosity to choose the benefactor rate make it possible to offer tickets at the scholarship rate so that everyone has an opportunity to attend.

What others are saying

"I’m still enjoying every day with an expansive sense of total release & freedom. The transformation awes me every day! As time passes, I realize that unlike some of the strategies I employed, its initial, astounding impact was not just a temporary boost. So, I can genuinely say it changed my life!! "

-- Elisa, Wareham, MA

"I feel like I just had a weight lifted from my chest and I can feel the space that was just created inside of me ... I'm overwhelmed with joy and I know what to do. "

-- Ashley, Denver, CO

"You made this practice very approachable, thank you."

-- Melissa, Hanover, MA

"I love the pace and tone and clear guidance."

-- Parminder, London, United Kingdom

"To say that this experience has been insightful, and it has, would be the highest compliment I could give."

-- Seeker, Cedar City, UT

"Mindfulness for the Professionally Anxious" is presented by Ron Levine from Mindfulness in Blue Jeans, a 20+ year practitioner of mindfulness and insight meditation.

After actively denying his own trauma for eight years, Ron's life finally fell apart in a crippling heap of anxiety, depression, panic disorder, and agoraphobia in early 1998. While on short-term disability and unable to even leave his house, he was introduced to anapanasati (mindfulness of breathing) and vipassana (mindfulness-based insight meditation), which formed the basis of a profound recovery built on daily practice on and off the cushion.

With backgrounds in social psychology, information technology, and yoga, Ron emphasizes a grounded and methodical results-based approach toward discovering inner freedom.

"Mindfulness in Blue Jeans ... because enlightenment doesn't care if you're wearing yoga pants."
