Event Details

EIGHT-WEEK PROGRAM:

Following the curriculum developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD and Saki Santorelli, EdD this course is designed to teach mind - body awareness that has been found to help with physical and/or psychological effects of stress, pain, or illness. 

  • Over 600 similar programs nationwide

  • Intensive training in mindfulness meditation and its integration into the challenges of everyday life.

SCIENTIFIC STUDIES SHOW SUCCESS WITH:

  • Chronic pain
  • Anxiety or panic attacks
  • Arthritis
  • Gastrointestinal disorder
  • High blood pressure
  • Migraines
  • Heart disease
  • Insomnia
  • Substance abuse

Type A behavior, coping with stressful situations, developing a more accepting attitude, and improved concentration

 

THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Weekly 2-1/2 hour sessions for eight weeks
  • Guided mindfulness practice and group discussion
  • All-day retreat
  • Workbook with CD by Bob Stahl, PhD
  • The book, "Full Catastrophe Living" by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD

MBSR in Santa Barbara

Ron Fouts and Ron Pilato are currently in the MBSR trianing through the Oasis Institute, Center for Mindfulness at the UMASS Medcial School. Before moving to Santa Barbara in August 2014, they taught 8 MBSR class cycles at the UCSF Lakeshore Famly Medicine Center. They have found the training profound and life changing and enjoy sharing the teachings and practices with others.
