REGISTRATION DEADLINE MARCH 17TH.
Join MindfulNYU and MBSR Certified instructor Judy Bernstein, PsyD. for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the eight-week course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is the awareness that is cultivated by paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, with affection. MBSR uses mindful movement, meditation, group discussion, and inquiry to teach students how to use mindfulness to relate differently to stress. The course teaches practical ways to integrate mindfulness into daily life and build and sustain a personal mindfulness practice.
Classes will be held for 9 consecutive weeks (week 1 is a mandatory orientation) on Thursdays from 6:00-8:30pm, March 23rd to May 18th 2017 on New York University’s campus off of Washington Square Park. A required daylong retreat will happen from 10-5pm on May 6th.
Registration is required. The cost is $395 which includes all classes, materials, yoga mat rental and a daylong retreat.
Orientation: 3/23 for 3 hours from 6-9pm.
Eight classes occurring weekly on Thursdays: 3/30, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18 for 2 hours and 30 minutes from 6-8:30pm.
Daylong retreat on 5/6 from 10am to 5pm.
Please note, to get the most benefit from this course, participation in all classes is required. Should you need to miss more than one class, it is best to consider taking it at another time.
What is the refund policy?
Should you need to drop out, full refunds will be issued only up until the deadline, which is 3/17/2017. After an initial orientation interview, the instructor reserves the right to decline a student's participation. If this should occur, a full refund will be issued. If we are unable to fill the class by 3/17, we will cancel the course and refund all participants.
