Event description
A half day workshop exploring concrete ways of loving ourselves authentically, and how this can lead to fierce compassion and solidarity.

About this Event

Those of us committed to the struggle for justice sometimes feel wiped out. We spend ourselves like currency, trying to buy a better future, and we are often all-to-willing to spend everything. And because injustice continues to grow, it is easy to feel like we accomplish nothing. That, somehow, that means we aren't enough—which is a path to discouragement, self-contempt, and despair.

This half day workshop will explore concrete ways of loving ourselves authentically, and how to use this radical self-love as a foundation for the fierce compassion needed in the struggle for justice and full inclusion.

Mindful Self Compassion teaches us to treat ourselves the way you would treat a good friend when they suffer, fall short or fail in some way. However, if engaged fully, this form of radical self-care will lead to a sense of solidarity with the oppressed and action directed against the systems of domination that are the source of their oppression.
