Event description
Mindful Self-Compassion 8 Week Training

About this Event

Based on the work of Kristen Neff and Christopher Germer, MSC has been extensively researched and proven to provide many wellness benefits.

Cultivating MSC increases emotional strength and resilience, while decreasing anxiety and self-criticism. It helps us admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves, relate wholeheartedly to others and be more authentically ourselves. It is solidly supported by research and is now taught on every continent on earth!!

The training includes meditation, short talks, experiential exercises, group discussion, home practices and a half-day retreat midway through the program.

After the MSC Training, you will be able to:

1. Practice self-compassion in daily life.

2. Understand the empirically-supported benefits of self-compassion.

3. Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism.

4. Handle difficult emotions with ease.

5. Transform challenging relationships.

6. Manage caregiver fatigue.

7. Practice the art of savouring and self-appreciation.

This training also forms the prerequite for MSC Teacher Training

Patricia trained with Kristen Neff and Christopher Germer, founders of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and is deeply committed to bringing Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training to Victoria.

While her career path has been diverse and varied, compassion and creativity have been constant themes. She is an artist, registered art therapist, certified counsellor and a trained teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion. She is delighted to offer presentations, workshops, and trainings that integrate her deep love of the creative process with the powerful resource of Mindful-Self-Compassion (MSC).

Patricia recently published a journal article on a model she developed called ONEBird that integrates mindfulness, self-compassion, and creative expression. She is wholeheartedly committed to promoting self-compassion in Victoria and surrounding areas through the 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program and her own shorter variations that include art-based activities.

She has woven her work and thinking from beautiful threads gratefully recieved from teachers like Carl Rogers, Tara Brach, Bessel Van De Kolk, Gabor Mate, Dan Siegel and Stephen Porges.

Her goal in life is to share her path to freedom with others and help people bring their unique and joyful selves more fully into the world. You can find more information about her work and upcoming workshops at The Nurturing
