About this event

Mindful recovery practices can play an important role in helping people with mental health and substance use disorders achieve emotional sobriety. Clinical supervisors and team leaders can improve clinical outcomes, reducing counselor and employee burnout and compassion fatigue utilizing mindfulness practices. Attendees will participate in both didactic, individual and group experiential exercises to understand the concepts, practices of mindful recovery.

Steve is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed clinical addiction specialist with certification in the Love First, ARISE, and Guided Intervention models. As a seasoned interventionist, clinician, presenter, and program developer, his career has focused on helping individuals and families who are affected by substance use and mental health issues. After working with adolescents in the school system, Steve went on to counsel individuals and families at the Commencement Center in Georgia. Steve then worked as a primary counselor at Amethyst in Charlotte before going on to become the founder and clinical director of the Eastover Awakenings Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program for adults with co-occurring disorders. Most recently, he opened his own intervention and counseling practice in 2016.
