Join Helen and Katie for an express pilates workout and guided journaling + mindfulness workshop!

About this event

Both movement and writing are incredible grounding tools that help us get to know ourselves better, in body body and mind.

In this 90 minute workshop, Helen will lead you through a 30 minute express breath focused pilates workout to calm and strengthen the body. Then, Katie will lead us through a 30 minute mindfulness session using guided journaling prompts and open discussion to spark creativity and self awareness.

This workshop is free to the public, but you have to sign up to access! All registered participants will be sent a replay after the event. We also encourage a donation of $5-25 to the Project Heal Treatment Equity Fund for LGBTQ + BIPOC to complete the energetic exchange!

Meet Helen Phelan

Helen Phelan is a body neutral and intuitive certified pilates instructor, prenatal + postpartum corrective exercise specialist, and founder of digital pilates and mindful fitness platform, Helen Phelan Studio. As an ex professional dancer and eating disorder survivor, Helen's approach to exercise is based on her lived experience that diet culture and the no excuses mindset keeps people stuck in a bad body image loop that makes them dread movement- despite its mood and energy boosting benefits. She refined her methodology so that it could not only fit into her life in a non-harmful way post recovery, but to support others heal their relationships with movement and their own bodies + feel strong, empowered with intuitive exercise. She works with clients 1:1, in groups, and through her on demand platform to help people stop thinking of exercise as a way to burn off food and instead as a self-care tool to feel your best, both mentally and physically. She has contributed to/been featured in InStyle Mag, Huffington Post, Well + Good, Bustle, MindBodyGreen and more!

Meet Katie Daleabout

Katie Dalebout is a writer and podcaster, and the founder of let it out, a community for sharing *soft stories*, the tender tales that connect us. Her weekly interview show that began in 2013 now has over 4 million downloads and in 2019 she started Spiraling, a co-hosted anxiety show. Her book let it out (Hay House in 2016) is an interactive guide to journaling. She’s spoken at Kripalu, Soho House, and The Wing and now runs a journaling based creative clinic and leads an online workshop for independent podcasters.
