Event description

A series on Jewish mindfulness/meditation for 20 and 30 somethings

Anxious about work? Fearful of rejection in relationships? Weighed down by a negative inner voice or self-perception? Carrying around old trauma or pain? Your 20s and 30s are a critical lifestage. That means it’s the perfect time to ask yourself these questions and explore the answers as or before you hit the zenith of your career, make major personal relationship decisions, and your parents begin to transition to seniorhood.

Start with this series of 5 classes for beginners or experienced practitioners of mindfulness meditation, through a Jewish lens. Become more present and attuned to your mind and body. Learn what wisdom our ancient tradition contains to enlighten our modern lives and lighten our heavy loads.

Mindfulness meditation is proven to ease anxiety and mental stress. Learn to be more present with your body and mind, in your relationships and in your work—see how your ability to observe and be present can change your life.

Each class will have a focus area particularly cultivated to those under 40, and incorporate introductory skills in mindfulness meditation for beginners to learn the fundamentals. Most of the class will be guided, with a dedicated portion for a silent meditation ‘sit.’

(Classes do not build per se, though attendance at the first two build a helpful base for the rest.)

March 12 Class One: Mindful Eating

March 19 Class Two: Tuning in to Your Body

March 26 Class Three: Walking & Workplace

April 2 Class Four: Mindful Relationships

April 9 Class Five: Personal Growth

CBY Members: $10/class or $40/5-class pass
Non-Members: $15/class or $50/5-class pass
