ABOUT

  • Every Monday, 7:30 - 9:30 PM at Carmelina Sanctuary (our studio is in a private residence)
  • Tuition is $20 - we have volunteer positions available in exchange for class tuition. Email us for more details about how you can get involved: PLAY@jummeemethod.com.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move, sit, and relax in.
  • Bring a meditation pillow and yoga mat if you have one. If not, we have blankets and yoga mats for you to use.


Is it hard for you to meditate?

You're not alone! Not all of us have spent our whole lives practicing meditation, nor spent hours on top of a mountain in meditation. With all the hustle and bustle of modern life, we spend a lot of time in our heads and not in our bodies. So when we finally get a moment to sit, it's like our minds are still running around in circles.

This can really discourage your meditation practice. You practice all the tools and yet still feel like you're not quite "getting it". We're here to help. We created this weekly event to help make meditation more accessible for you in your daily practice.

Combining 20 years of practice in Zen Buddhist meditation with years of study in embodiment practices including breathwork, Korean energy yoga, and sound healing, Jummee has created a method to help you unite your mind and body as one so you can find your seat in meditation with ease.

Before we meditate, we need to get into our bodies. This class will guide you through a series of simple embodiment practices including 108 Karma Clearing Bows a short and sweet JUMMEE Method Mindful Flow. Then, we'll drop into a deep meditation. You'll experience a new level of ease and comfort in dropping into a meditative state and will leave with new tools to help you in your daily practice.

What are 108 Karma Clearing Bows?

This practice comes from Korean Zen Buddhism. This bowing practice is for the clearing of karma that arises from the 6 senses and the 6 sense objects, from the past, present, and future. That’s 6 x 6 x 3 = 108 bows (or more!). In the Zen Buddhist temples, the monks do this practice every day to prepare for meditation.

Every bow clears your karma at a quantum level, and unites your mind and body as one. Basically, the practice creates a clearing of the mental constructs, beliefs, thoughts, or “karma” that creates our physical reality. By shifting the foundation of the physical reflection of this karma through the bowing practice, the external reality shifts.

Collective action will always be greater than what we can accomplish with individual will power alone. So if you’re looking for a practice to strengthen your focus, your commitment, your discipline, your devotion to yourself…. a practice to clear your mind and connect your consciousness to your body every day so you’re more present and alert…. a practice to clear whatever obstacles are in the way of creating the life you desire, then join us!

We weave together moments of powerful yan with soothing yin, we intertwine elements of qi gong and tai chi with 5rhythms and Gestalt Awareness, we journey deep into ourselves to emerge into the true lightness of our being.

Pause. Do less, and take a deep dive into your inner landscape. Before sinking into a deep meditation, take a journey through some gentle movements, guided meditation and a dreamy sound bath.

Her mission is to create experiences that share her full spectrum wisdom with others and catalyze conscious compassionate communities. Currently, she is exploring the power of play to enliven the inner child and nurture our fullest potential.
