Join us for a deep exploration of how habits drive food choices and develop a clear understanding of how you relate to food. This small group series will meet weekly for six weeks learning techniques to bring mindfulness to your food choices. Mindful eating is a non-judgmental approach to transforming your diet and relationship to food. This program replaces the restriction and deprivation of typical diet plans with an abundant, nourishing and enjoyable approach to eating.
Participants will learn basic mindfulness techniques (breath awareness, body awareness, relaxation) and mindful eating skills (tuning into taste, pausing prior to eating, hunger and fullness awareness).
Weekly topics:

Session 1: Wednesday, January 17
• Introduction: mindful eating principles, basic meditation instructions, mindful bite exercise.

Session 2: Wednesday, January 24
• What am I hungry for? The 7 types of hunger.

Session 3: Wednesday, January 31
• Enough is enough. Fullness awareness.

Session 4: Wednesday, February 7
• Craving practice. How to STOP mindless eating.

Session 5: Wednesday, February 14
• Emotions and food. Triggers and chain reactions. Training the brain.

Session 6: Wednesday, February 21
• Slow the fork down. Cultivating healthy habits.
