Mindful Child, Mindful Parent with Susan Kaiser Greenland
In this talk, Susan Kaiser Greenland, renowned author and teacher of mindfulness, will offer us information about true and tested mindfulness practices we can apply to help reduce stress in our children and cultivate the essential life skills of attention (A), emotional balance (B) and compassion (C). We will learn simple games and activities that we can integrate into our daily parenting routines to help our children learn these new “A, B, C”s and meet challenging situations more calmly. While initially designed for children, playing mindful games has been seen to have a transformative effect on adults and all relationships within the family. Following the formal presentation, we will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how to further support the teaching and learning of mindfulness. Handouts will be provided. Books by the author will be available for purchase and signing. This talk is geared to parents or caregivers who have children of all ages and abilities.
