Mimosas 4 Moms Black Carpet Brunch (#ISupportOKCBWOC)
Event Information
Description
By attending our Mimosas 4 Mom's - Mother's Day Black Carpet Brunch, you will be helping our organization recognize those individuals who have supported us in bringing awareness to the communities need for women of color in the field of birth work. In the state of Oklahoma the infant mortality rate has decreased over the last 3 years, but the numbers are still at a staggering high. This event is geared to help the community understand how important it is that mothers have support from their 1st thru their 4th trimester.
We believe by adding more community based educators, that are trained with clear evidence based knowledge, and equipped with strategically designed tools for success, we can help reduce the numbers of mother and infant deaths in the state of Oklahoma for all women, with a strong focus on the disparities within the African American communities. Your gifts of love on this past #GivingTuesday Celebration will not go unnoticed. This is your special invitation to show our appreciation for your support.

Our goal is to provide 30 or more women of color the ability to receive comprehensive, culturally competent, evidence based education in birth work every quarter. We are making a strong emphasis on the respective field of perinatal health and wellness.
TIMs use of, grassroots strategies to connect, with local media and social media to bring awareness to the community at large. Our unique community consists of single moms, working families, singles, foster families, college students, birth professionals, entrepreneures, small business owners, entertainers, artists, organizations, and community leaders.
A large population of the community are low-income, single mothers that we seek to serve. The others are working families, but some are still in economic hardship. It is our goal to assist these families, by engaging local media, small businesses, and community driven organizations to help support them on their path to a sustainable career in maternal health and child wellness as Independent Perinatal Birth Consultants.
