Description

Goodwill Detroit invites you to join a FREE screening of the groundbreaking documentary, MILWAUKEE 53206. Through the lens of three intimate journeys, MILWAUKEE 53206 illustrates the high toll incarceration has taken on the lives of so many Americans and their families.

Doors | 5:15 p.m.
Film Begins | 6:00 p.m.
Panel Discussion | 7:00 p.m.

Following the screening a panel of thought-leaders in the areas of criminal and social justice will take questions and facilitate a group discussion on our thoughts, views and what we can do to support the children, parents, and families affected by mass incarceration.

MILWAUKEE 53206 chronicles the lives of those living in the ZIP code that incarcerates the highest percentage of Black men in America, up to 62%. Through the intimate stories of three 53206 families, we witness the high toll mass incarceration takes on individuals and families that make up the community. The film not only examines Milwaukee’s ZIP code, 53206, but also illuminates the story of people from across the United States who live with the daily effects of mass incarceration.
