- Gain an in-depth understanding of common features of psychosis, including belief in multiple realities, the possibility of miraculous events, and the drive of a magical quest that motivates many people in psychosis
- Identify common, actual events such as accurate intuitions, synchronicity, and projection of personal reality and identity into a symbol system that forms a tenacious delusional framework
- Learn straight forward means to calm paranoia and emotions of a person in psychosis, including during crises

- Know how to apply knowledge of the person’s life and surroundings to connect real life events to the experiences the person had during psychosis
- Be able to guide a post-psychotic person through the phases of resolving post-psychotic challenges to move the person toward full self- understanding
- Be able to apply approaches to move the person from isolation and fear into renewed activity and recovery in mainstream society
- Be able to help the person use their experiences in psychosis to gain insight into their lives and achieve personal growth

About the Presenter
Milt Greek developed paranoid schizophrenia while attending Ohio University in the early and mid-1980s. After stabilizing in 1987, Milt finished degrees in Psychology and Sociology and retrained in computer programming, working full-time from September of 1989 to the present.
Milt volunteered extensively with people in psychosis and is doing research into psychosis. He has presented at national and international conferences; his Crisis Intervention Technique (CIT) lecture is posted on the web by the Ohio Criminal Justice Coordinating Center of Excellence.
Milt’s presentations are highly rated. He provides an articulate “inside” view into the illness that helps practitioners understand what it is like to have this illness. He offers practical strategies to promote recovery based upon his volunteer work with a schizophrenia peer support group and individual work with those in psychosis.
In November of 2011, Milt was the subject of a New York Times front page feature article as part of series profiling individuals with major mental illnesses who are in recovery and living normal lives. The article discussed both Milt’s life and recovery and his work in discovering new insights into psychosis.
In 2009, Milt began the Schizophrenia: A Blueprint for Recovery Project to promote new approaches to the condition. In response to demand, Milt has begun to present a series of CE workshops in and around Ohio.

Cost (includes 190 page handbook): $120.00 for both workshops on one day (includes box lunch)
$55 for one workshop (lunch not provided)
