Intensive Workshop Topics ~

Alicia is a master of the milonguero-style and will adapt and cater the curriculum to the needs and energy of her students as the weekend progresses.

Expect to refine your technique as a milonguero, but also come away with a more intense sense of connection to the roots of tango and your dance partners.

Intensive workshops will be role-balanced and limited to a maximum of 34 students.

Follower's Techniqe for Women ~

This is not your ordinary adorment class, ladies! Learn to master your axis, feel light (yet present) in the close-embrace, and most importantly, find your voice in the dance.

Alicia's mastery of footwork and graceful presence on the social dance floor has made this her most popular class, but sorry, gentleman, it is tailored specifically for female followers only!

Follower's Technique for Women will be limited to 50 students.

Milonga Abrazos ~

Milonga Abrazos is Seattle's only role-balanced, close-embrace milonga dedicated to supporting the traditional códigos of social tango dancing.

All seats are reserved and organized to support use of the cabeceo.

Save your high boleos, ganchos and flashy maneuvers for another venue. At Milonga Abrazos we keep the embrace close, the floor cozy, and maintain our lanes and line of dance.

Milonga Abrazos will be limited to 100 dancers. Registration opens in September for those NOT purchasing full-weekend workshop passes.

FAQs ~

How can I contact the organizer?

You can reach Amy Allison at IntrepidTanguera@gmail.com (preferred) or text/cell 206-972-8047.

Can I attend just one class?

At this time, the only single-class available is Follower's Technique for Women.

If space allows, registration for à la carte classes will open after September 15.

What if I can't attend all of the workshops?

If your schedule cannot accommodate the full weekend of workshops, you have two options:

Option #1: Purchase a full pass now to guarantee your spot in the classes that you CAN attend, and then email the organizer with details about the classes that you will miss. IF your spot can be transferred to another student, you will receive a partial refund.

Option #2: Email the organizer to be added to the waiting list for single-class passes. Specify in your email the workshops you prefer to attend and your role. If space becomes available for your role and preferred time slot, you will be contacted.

Can I switch roles during the weekend?

Yes. Several spots are reserved for dancers that would like to switch roles throughout the weekend.

Email the organizer for more details and instructions for registration.

What is the refund and transfer policy?

Full refunds (less processing and administration fees) are available up until 30 days prior to the event start date. After that time, refunds will be issued ONLY if your pass can be transfered to a student of the same role on our waiting list.

Pass transfers must be coordinated with written permission from the organizer so that priority can be given to students on the waiting list.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. Check-in at the door, and your name will be on our registration list.

Can I pay by cash or check?

Yes. Email the organizers for instructions.

Can I take a private lesson?

Yes. One-hour private lessons are $110 plus studio fees. Email the organizer to be contacted in September when scheduling begins.
