A Few Words
I'm happy to announce that we'll be going back to the Yacht & Beach Club, which everyone who attended last year seemed to enjoy. The price has gone up since last year's conference actually lost money. I hope this will correct the trajectory. I think it's still a tremendous bargain for a 3-day tech conference.
If you're considering attending for the first time, you should know that the rate we've got for the Yacht & Beach club is a tremendous discount for one of the best hotels in the area — which usually goes for over $345/night. One of the additional benefits of the location is that you can walk to EPCOT from the resort in the evenings, which is a huge benefit during the International Food & Wine Festival. It also means you can walk to a number of great restaurants at each of the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk Inn.
Our Thursday night dinner tradition is intact and I'll be sharing details about the restaurant and the sign-up when we get closer to the event. For the first-timers, we typically get together for dinner on Thursday night at an area restaurant (significant others are invited), which isn't covered by your registration fee, but is a great time.
What You Get For Your Registration Fee: Your registration fee covers a full breakfast on Friday and Saturday, snacks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Attending the conference, also gets you the hotel rate of $180/night, which is good for up to 3 nights before and 3 nights after the event. In addition, for those of you looking to turn this into a Disney vacation, there are special discounts on part-day tickets for conference attendees – these will let you get into the parks at 2pm or 4pm for dinner, fun, and more.
Hotel Room Registration: As soon as you've registered for the conference, I urge you to make your hotel reservations by calling 407-939-4686 and asking for the MILOfest room block. As with last year, the room block is limited. When we use it up, we'll try and get some additional rooms at a nearby hotel.
Speakers & Sessions: We've mixed up the speakers to include some new faces, as well as some speakers from prior years. I'm really proud of the lineup this year. We've got some of the best and brightest Mac minds presenting great topics. I think you'll agree. The MILOfest website will give more details on these fantastic speakers, but trust me that these folks are the best of the best.
Tickets: As before, I'm giving a nod to prior MILOfest attendees with a slight price break. If you've been to a MILOfest in the past, feel free to use the Attendee Appreciation rate. However, you have to register by June 1, 2013 or else pay what everyone else pays. No exception on this.
To register for the event, go to the MILOfest Eventbrite Page and follow the instructions on the EventBrite registration page or on the badge alongside the MILOfest webpage. To avoid the processing fees, you can call my office at 609.818.0068 and arrange to pay by check. Do not attempt to pay by check on the EventBrite site, or you’ll have to pay the processing fees.
Conclusion: If this is your first experience with MILOfest, let me welcome you and let you know, you’re in for a treat. This conference is outstanding, by all measure, and it’s due almost entirely to the superb speakers. (The other part is how warm and collegial the attendees are. Honestly, these are the nicest attorneys I know, and the only conference where I can sit down with any of you and enjoy a drink.)
I hope that prior year’s attendees will decide to come back. You can email me with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
Oh, I almost forgot to share one of the most important details. Yes, my mom will be back to help work the conference. Enid, and her coffee, will be in the house.
Thank you in advance for your interest. See you there!
P.S. - I wrote this all in Markdown, which I learned at MILOfest last year!
