Million STEM is so excited to welcome Lisa Ventura to talk about Imposter Syndrome & how to tackle it!
Impostor Syndrome is a very common phenomenon amongst business leaders. Many struggle with it on a day to day basis, and it can be debilitating as the experience of feeling as if you are a fraud and that you don't belong in the job or profession that you are doing. It can affect anyone no matter their social status, work background, skill level, or degree of expertise, but it tends to affect women more than men.
This talk will:
- provide an overview of impostor syndrome
- provide some insights and stats on how common it is
- provide some helpful hints and tips to help you master it

Lisa is a well known and award-winning leader in the cybersecurity industry. She founded the UK Cyber Security Association and is in high demand as a keynote speaker and panellist at various cyber security, technology and IT conferences and events. Her journey into the cyber security industry was a non-linear one as she spent many years in the entertainment industry working with Chris Tarrant, the first host of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” in the UK, prior to making the move into cyber security in 2009.
Lisa is passionate about raising awareness of being more cyber aware in business to help prevent cyber-attacks and cyber fraud. She is a thought leader, author and has been published in various publications globally. Her first book “The Rise of the Cyber Women: Volume One” was published in August 2020 and her second book “The Varied Origins of the Cyber Men: Volume One” was published in November 2020, both to great acclaim.
Lisa sits on the board of Think Digital Partners and is a strong advocate for women in cyber security, the cyber skills gap and neurodiversity. In 2020 she was named CISO Magazine’s “Infosec Superwoman of the Year” and has won numerous other awards for her work including SC Magazine’s “Outstanding Contribution to Cyber Security” award and in 2021 one of SC Magazine’s Top 30 Women of Influence in Cyber Security.
