Event description
Field tour of the Miller Homestead fire to learn from five years of local recovery and restoration efforts to increase sagebrush resilience.

About this Event

The Miller Homestead fire devastated over 500,000 acres West of Frenchglen in 2012 with significant impacts to landowners and managers including loss of sage-grouse populations and their habitat. In response local, state and federal partners have expanded Rangeland Fire Protection Associations (RFPA's) and their cooperation with BLM as well as restoration and research activities across public and private lands. The tour will provide a unique opportunity to hear first-hand from community members how their approach has shown promise and the long road ahead on reestablishing sagebrush ecosystems.
