Event Details

Mill Creek residents ~ are you interested in native plants for wildlife, rain barrels, or less toxic lawn and garden products for children and pets? Would you like to save money on water bills and save time on yard maintenance? Join us at this 3 hour workshop to learn how to create a sustainable, easy to care for yard that is aesthetically beautiful, and you can build a rain barrel to take home!

Attendees are welcome to join for either session, or both, at the Saturday, April 12, event.  Both events take place at the Lively Environmental Center.

Session 1: Sustainable Landscaping Certification | 10 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Learn easy steps to take that will save time on your yard work naturally, and sustainably. Also learn about the City of Mill Creek's new program, and how to receive a free, on-site consulation and plaque for your garden.

Session 2: Build your own Rain Barrel | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m Join experienced staff as they lead you through an easy to understand, hands-on, build-your-own rain barrel workshop. No experience is necessary. All tools will be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring guests who can help assemble the rain barrel; only one person from each party has to register.
