There are lots of quirky, murky things about the iconic Vietnamese dish of pho: What is it? Where did it come from? What are benchmarks of good pho? What are the secrets to mastering pho? What role does umami play? Christopher Kimball and Andrea Nguyen will chat and prepare pho as they unravel the delicious mysteries of Vietnam's national food.
After their conversation you’ll have the opportunity to meet Andrea and Christopher and sample recipes from “The Pho Cookbook,” Andrea's latest book.
Andrea will be signing copies of "The Pho Cookbook" (Tenspeed Press, 2017), available at the event and with advance ticket purchase.

About Andrea Nguyen
Andrea Nguyen is an author, teacher, and consultant based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born in Vietnam, she came to the United States at the age of six. Her first book, a children’s book, chronicles that journey. She has written a number of acclaimed cookbooks, including Into the Vietnamese Kitchen, Asian Dumplings, and The Banh Mi Handbook. Many organizations have recognized her excellent work, including the James Beard Foundation, International Association of Culinary Professional, and National Public Radio. Andrea’s food writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Cooking Light, Lucky Peach, Saveur, and Rodale’s Organic Life, where she is a contributing editor. Is my registration/ticket refundable or transferrable?
Yes. Tickets are refundable up to seven days before an event and transferable to another student at any time. Within seven days of the event, we do not offer refunds.
