Description
The Metroplex Military Charitable Trust (MMCT) announces the first of its Military Speaker Series fundraising luncheons. The event will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:30 am at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, 6911 Lemmon Avenue, Dallas, TX.
Since 1990, MMCT has been an avid supporter and creator of numerous military charities in the region. Noteworthy are the creation of the Metroplex Veterans Legal Services legal clinics; the underwriting of expenses for the local Toys for Tots campaigns, the extensive support of local high school Junior ROTC programs as well as the purchase of vans for the Veterans Resource Center to transport veterans to and from the local VA hospital.
Colonel Tony Wood, USMC (Ret) will be the first speaker in this series. In 1975, Colonel Wood was assigned the unique role of directing and planning the secret evacuation of thousands of US civilians from the then South Vietnamese capital of Saigon. You won't want to miss this first-hand account of obtaining nearly unachievable results during hyper-fluid combat events.
