Event description

Description

The migration stories we share between the Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago, The Turkish American Society and the American Indian Trickster Art Gallery will elicit an extraordinary curiosity and appreciation in new educational experiences. Learn about our collective cultures as told through personal stories, objects of significance, the BIBBAK Illinois group, and more! This event will feature Skip Twardosz, Elder of the Pottawatomie people, Native Veteran and historian. Skip will share stories tied into our history of forced migration from place to place, state to state and how it affected life in the past and present. This events journey will conclude with a drum song. Our stories, exhibits and cuisine and other surprises will bring a deeper understanding of the diverse rich cultures of the U.S.A.

This program is a part of the Chicago Cultural Alliance's Inherit Chicago. Inherit Chicago is a city wide festival of art, ideas and performance at neighborhood heritage musuems and cultural centers. Head to InheritChicago.org for a full list of events!

Arriving and Parking: The Main Entrance (south side) of Trickster Art Gallery has a ramp to accommodate visitors in wheelchairs or with strollers. Accessible parking is available to the South and West of the Gallery. The exhibition spaces and public facilities are accessible by elevator.
