Event description

Description

Revel: to take great pleasure or delight in a situation; to make merry; to indulge in boisterous festivities.

Slow Food Seacoast, in partnership with Heirloom Harvest Project and Heron Pond Farm, offer a local foods feast at the Bakie Farm in Kingston NH, Sunday January 27, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.

There is much to revel in this season, as we celebrate the year round abundance of our local food system. Gather with us to enjoy a meal made of locally-produced ingredients by the area’s top chefs, showcasing the breadth of local foods available, even in midwinter! Tickets go on sale December 20th, the perfect holiday gift to share with family and friends.

In keeping with the tradition of the Heirloom Harvest Barn Dinner, many of the Seacoast’s best chefs will be collaborating to create a meal using not only local foods, but also highlighting the ways in which food can be re-purposed to avoid going to waste.

This year’s participating chefs include:

  • George Bezanson, Earth's Harvest Eatery
  • Jonathan Blakeslee, White Heron Tea and Coffee
  • Brett Cavana, The Carriage House
  • Carrie Dahlgren, Throwback Brewery
  • Lee Frank, Otis.restaurant,
  • Brent Hazelbaker, Relic Farm and Bungalow Club
  • Evan Hennessey, Stages at One Washington
  • Kevin Johnson, Embers Bakery
  • Josh Jennings, Abundance
  • Matt Louis, Moxy and The Franklin
  • Evan Mallett, Black Trumpet and Ondine Oyster Bar
  • Rob Martin, 1629
  • Mariah Roberts, Beach Pea Baking Company
  • Mark Segal, La Casita and Gravy
  • Jake Smith, The Black Birch and Chapel & Main
  • David Vargas, Vida Cantina and Ore Nells
  • Jeremiah Vernon, Vernon Family Farm
  • Brendan Vesey, Joinery
  • Justin Walker, Walkers

The dinner will take place inside the historic barn and outside on the grounds. Guests can stay cozy in the heated barn or venture out to gather around a warming fire, complete with steaming mugs of beverages and passed hors d’oeuvres.

The seated dinner takes place in the upper loft of the barn. Please note that this area can only be accessed by stairs and bear that in mind when deciding whether to attend. Guests should plan to wear warm clothing, sturdy shoes and leave the fancy dress for another evening.

As with all our events, Volunteers are needed! CLICK HERE to see the sign up page for volunteers.

We are reveling in the delight of our new venue at Bakie Farm! The Bakie Farm Initiative’s mission is to build community through local agriculture. The property is currently being restored to a working farm and an array of educational programs are under development.

Proceeds from the event support ongoing programs of Slow Food Seacoast and Heirloom Harvest Project.
