Midwinter Rest and Reset for Writers
Overview
As we head towards the solstice, the Midwinter Rest and Reset for Writers workshop offers writers a peaceful pause at the turning point of the year. The session is held in a calm, friendly environment so you can slow down and reconnect with yourself. It’s an informal workshop, with a focus on grounding and intention setting, and you’ll also get the chance to meet other writers.
What can you expect at this event?
Across two unhurried hours, you will be guided through grounding and meditative practices and structured discussion. The session includes simple breathwork and a look ahead to your writing goals for next year.
- Explore your intentions for next year
- Consider what you wish to let go of or carry forward
- Take part in a way that feels comfortable to you
How will you feel by the end of the workshop?
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your next steps and a renewed sense of connection to your creative practice. You’ll get some time to chat with other writers over a warm drink too, so h`opefully you’ll also leave with a renewed sense of community
Who will host the workshop?
The workshop is facilitated by Dr Louise Tondeur, an experienced writer and workshop leader, whose work brings together creative practice and mindful awareness. Lou is currently writing a book on writing and mindfulness for Bloomsbury Academic. Her website is here: www.louisetondeur.co.uk
Why rest and reset?
Winter provides a natural invitation to pause. It can also leave us craving connections. Rest and reset practices offer a way to align with the season and to set new goals. Chatting with other writers allows you to network informally (even if you’re an introvert).
