Event description
Are we still the Dairy State? That's the question we'll explore as we also search for solutions to the dairy crisis in Wisconsin.

About this Event

Join the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and the Pulitzer Center for an informative, thought-provoking morning on what's next for Wisconsin's iconic dairy industry.

This packed program will feature panelists from UW-Platteville including Dr. Kevin Bernhardt and Dr. Tera Montgomery as well as Pete Hardin, longtime editor of The Milkweed and Rick Barrett, the lead reporter on the Journal Sentinel's yearlong reporting project Dairyland in Distress.

Travis Forgues of Organic Valley Cooperative will be our keynote speaker.

We'll outline the challenges, but we'll also will focus on solutions.

And on how young farmers can succeed.

This event is free and open to the public and we'll serve lunch.

To request disability accommodations, please contact Shelby Lang at 608-342-3973 or email langs@uwplatt.edu

Join us in Ullsvik Hall promptly at 8 a.m. Free parking in Lot 3A.
