Mid-State MGMA Luncheon
Event Information
About this event
The events of the past few years have challenged us all, but especially healthcare workers. The pandemic has also caused us to have a new focus on the importance of our own mental health, as well the health of our staff.
May is Mental Health Awareness month and Mid-State MGMA will have a special lunch presentation. In this session you will learn strategies for taking care of your own overall health so that you can support your staff and care for your patients. Our speaker Kathy Cromwell, LCSW, has extensive experience counseling and coaching healthcare workers on handling stress and avoiding burnout.
Kathy Cromwell, LCSW has been a clinician for over 20 years, providing support to those in life transitions and in grief. She is the Executive Director of Counseling and Support Services at Hinds Hospice and part-time faculty at California State University teaching courses in Caregiving and Mental Health. Kathy works with several Employee Assistance Programs conducting seminars for leadership on topics related to employee wellness, burnout and the development of self-care and self-compassion practices. She has been providing wellness and education workshops throughout the pandemic, with a strong commitment to supporting individuals and our community in the layers of challenges that have been a reality for many. Kathy will provide attendees with skills, resources and tools for ourselves and teams to promote improved mental health in our practices.
