Mid-day Mindfulness Moment & Stretch
Event Information
About this Event
Mid-day Mindfulness Moment & Stretch is a 30-minute gentle yoga practice that you can do right at your office desk and in your workday clothes. Danielle, from Jai Dee Yoga & Wellness, will lead you through breath work and gentle yoga poses that will allow you to connect to the body and mind in the present moment. Gentle stretches and movement will help release tension in the body and bring balance to the mind. You’ll return to the rest of your day feeling restored and ready for whatever comes next. No special props or clothes needed.
Danielle deGregory Sweet is the owner of and lead instructor at Jai Dee Yoga & Wellness in Seminole Heights. Sharing the benefits of yoga is a passion of Danielle's, so when the opportunity to buy Jai Dee Yoga & Wellness knocked in the middle of a global pandemic, she answered the door. Making yoga accessible to people at all levels is at the heart of her practice. By connecting the breath to the body through asana, Danielle fosters a space where every level of student can explore their mind, body, and spirit in the present moment. Danielle found yoga in her late twenties by attending classes at a local gym and was hooked. Before long she attended her first studio class and never went back to the gym again. She credits her yoga practice for allowing her to be a successful public high school teacher for two decades before becoming a studio owner. In 2010, Danielle completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at The Lotus Pond in Tampa, FL in 2010 and has been teaching regularly since January 2011. Beginning in June of 2017, Danielle began her Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at the Carolina Yoga Company in Carrboro, N.C. She is looking forward to completing her 500-hour yoga certification over the next five years.
Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Please contact the Tampa Bay Women's Business Centre for more information: tbwbc@thecentre.org.
