Event description

Description

Join us in honoring NYC youth climate activists with the world premier of Cafeteria Culture's movie, Microplastic Madness. This free screening of the feature documentary will be followed by a Q&A with plastic-free heroes from the movie and Cafeteria Culture Youth Advocates

RSVP required!

Microplastic Madness is the story of 56 fifth graders from P.S.15 in Red Hook, Brooklyn - living on the frontline of the climate crisis - whose action on plastic pollution morphs into extraordinary leadership and scalable victories. With stop-motion animation, expert interviews, and heartfelt kid commentary, their inspiring narrative conveys an urgent, accessible message of informed action and hope.

The movie's young heroes take on the roles of citizen scientists, community leaders, and activists, bridging timely issues of plastic pollution and environmental justice with our global climate crisis. Told through a refreshing urban youth lens, this story is poised to ignite a youth led plastic-free movement in schools across New York City and the country.

This event is an opportunity to be inspired by youth heroes and to take away idea for action at your own school and community! Our free Microplastic Madness Toolkit, a Plastic Free Future resource will be available soon.
