Event description

Description

WE INVITE YOU TO COME TO THIS FUNDRAISER TO HELP US RAISE $100,000 FOR MICHAEL TO GET STEM CELL TREATMENT IN RUSSIA.

If you walk by this guy on the street, he looks relatively 'normal'. But actually, he has MS. It sucks. It's been a burden. It's a mood-killer. And neurologically, it's not great. To help Michael have a better quality of life, we want to send him to Moscow for Stem Cell Treatment in the attempt to halt the symptoms of his MS-littered brain.

To help him raise the funds, we are putting together a Fundraiser Party. It's a great opportunity for you to get involved and show your support, have a great time, catch-up with friends, make new friends and celebrate the opportunity of helping a mate out.

Fundraiser: Michael's Moscow Mission
Where: Little Paul's Urban Foods Grocery - 17 Greg Chappell Street, Albion
When: 7:00-7:30pm - 11pm

Michael's Story:

Multiple Sclerosis is not a fun disease. Particularly when it decides to take away your ability to walk, to see, to taste or to feel at any random time, no matter who you are. Multiple Sclerosis doesn't discriminate.

After suffering a debilitating relapse at the end of 2017, our good friend Michael was challenged to really consider life where he might not ever be able to walk the same, or ever at all. Starting to lose that basic ability led to him starting to lose hope.

Though his health was being pushed to its limit, he decided enough is enough of feeling s**t. He overhauled his food regime and started following OMS (Dr. George Jelinek's Overcoming MS protocol). He introduced meditation into his daily life and shifted his focus to beat this. Through his determination, he ended up finding communities around the world of MS sufferers similar to him. He connected with many, exchanged tips and advice and eventually learnt more about HSCT (Hematopoietic Stem Cell Treatment) currently being carried out in Moscow, Russia.

There is no cure for MS and though HSCT is not a cure, it is the strongest treatment out there that can potentially halt, or better yet, reverse his symptoms. For this treatment to be the most effective, it is recommended that he goes as soon as possible rather than risk the delay of his symptoms progressively getting worse over time.

Recently, Michael applied for this once in a lifetime treatment and has been fortunate to be accepted as a patient this August. This is good news, however the cost of having to go through with treatment is around $100,000. With time against him, this is adding pressure on him and his family to make significant changes to make this opportunity available to him.

As such, we would like to reach out to friends, family and the wider community to come support, help fundraise for this awesome guy. He has helped many people, from football boot fittings at his family's shop, Soccer World, through to lending you his jacket if you're cold. So, let's help him get the treatment he needs.

We look forward to you coming and showing your support!
