Description

We invite you to join your fellow clinicians to learn about cutting-edge best practices in cardiovascular care. Minneapolis Heart Institute® providers will discuss topics in prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and clinical support staff are welcome to attend. All events are free of charge.

Current Concepts in Atrial Fibrillation
Daniel Melby, MD, Electrophysiologist
• Define the pathophysiology and risk factors for development of atrial fibrillation
• Understand current options for stroke prevention, including indications for the watchman device
• Discuss current recommendations for newest approaches and indications for atrial fibrillation ablation


Current Trends in the Management of Aortic Dissection
Bassam Shukrallah, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon
• Understand long term limitations of historical management of acute dissections
• Describe current options in the acute and subacute settings for operative intervention
• Recognize patient characteristics that may benefit from more aggressive approach to their initial repair
