Description
Metta Round The World, MRTW is a project inspired by Venerable Mahinda. It is a global initiative to connect like-minded peace-loving people in cultivation of Metta (loving-kindness), and to harness the collective positive energies to transmute the negative and chaotic energies for peace, harmony and stability in the world. It has since been launched in Malaysia, Australia and Singapore and MRTW chapters set up. (more info on MRTW)
The Metta Convention
Part of the Metta Round The World (MRTW) initiative, the Metta Convention serves to facilitate a meeting of minds to promote the widespread practice of metta, and to bring it to new levels through acts of compassionate love such as supporting and caring for the sick, aging and those in need of physical, psychological and spiritual support.

Venerable Mahinda
Venerable Mahinda was ordained a Theravâda Buddhist monk in 1976 under the tutelage of the late Venerable Dr K Sri Dhammananda Nayaka Mahâ Thera. He is now Abbot of the Âloka Meditation Centre, NSW, Australia, and founder of the Australian Buddhist Mission and Âloka Foundation Malaysia. Bhante Mahinda is also the advisor to the Singapore Buddhist Mission. His attendance at international conferences and interfaith dialogues has taken him to more than 30 countries.

Dr A. T. Ariyaratne is the founder of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka which is currently the largest NGO in Sri Lanka. A former high school teacher at Nalanda College, he has led tens of thousands of meditations with millions of people throughout Sri Lanka and other parts of the world since 1958. Dr. Ariyaratne has been called the 'Gandhi of Sri Lanka.', by creating a system where the community helps itself.
Dr Stuart Chin
Dr Stuart Chin, a medical doctor specializing in obstetrical & gynecological practice is spreaheading the development of Aloka Foundation's Mitraville, an eco-holistic Retreat Centre located 6000 ft above sea level, the half-way point of Mt. Kinabalu (the highest peak in Malaysia). Born and bred in Sandakan, Malaysia, he received his tertiary education and specialist training in the United Kingdom.
Dr William Wan
Dr William Wan is the General Secretary of the Singapore Kindness Movement. Prior to taking on this role as General Secretary, he was practising law and managing a psychometric company. He has always been active in community-based work and believes that kindness breeds kindness.
Sister Sumitra
Sister Sumitra was born in Singapore and currently assists Ven. Mahinda in teaching meditation and its application in daily life, for the benefit of individuals, society and Buddhism at large. She is also a Spiritual Director of the Australian Buddhist Mission and resident teacher at the Aloka Meditation Centre, Australia.

FAQs
I am an overseas delegate and have registered. How do I make my payment?
You may make your payment (cash) at the registration counter on the 1st day of the event 29 June.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Transportation to and from Venue Hotel to the convention venue will be provided for both days.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
You may want to bring a cardigan as the auditorium is fully air-conditioned. Break-out rooms are not air-conditioned… Simply bring yourself….and your smile.
Must I stay at Venue Hotel?
No. You may stay at other hotels, etc. If you are staying at other place, please find your way to the convention venue.
I am coming alone. Can you find a roommate for me?
We will try to match you will another same gender delegates where possible. Please let us know immediately upon registration.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, please email us in advance.
Are meals provided? Do you cater to special dietary requirement?
Vegetarian breakfast, lunch and tea break on both days; dinner on Day1. If you have special dietary requirement, please write to us and we will advise if your needs can be met.
