Event description
Join the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild for its inaugural Conference on Theater Education.

About this Event

Over the course of four days, educators, artists, arts leaders, and administrators will come together for conversations and educational workshops that promote accessible, high quality theater education and advance our collective efforts to advocate for robust and sustainable theater programs in every city, town, and school in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The METG has identified three main pillars for the conference: Access, Advocacy, and Quality. At the center of this multi-day event will be the 2020 State Finals of the METG High School Drama Festival, allowing real-time opportunities for participants of the conference (and the State Finals) to engage with live theater and to network with students and teachers from a variety of programs and disciplines.

Attendees will have the ability to tailor their registration to suit their schedule, including electing to attend only the plenary sessions/workshops or attend both the plenary sessions/workshops and attend the fourteen State Finals productions and facilitated talk-back sessions. Attendees may earn up to 30 professional development points (PDPs) by attending all four days of the conference and each of the breakout sessions and performance/talk-back sessions.

A small number of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Loews hotel for participants wishing to stay overnight in Boston. Please reserve your room by following this link: https://www.loewshotels.com/boston-hotel/ma-theater-educators-conference
